--Tavian-- (Spoilers to any other group who haven't finished the book)
I found the end of the book to be the best part out of all of it. I was hooked when the face off between Nailer and Richard happened because "Lucky Girl's," life was in danger and she is my least favourite character. The only part I found mildly confusing was when the book began to feel more like a book about pirates but it was interesting enough to keep my attention. I enjoyed that the atmosphere becoming more dark because Nailer hadn't been too exposed to the kind of environment so seeing is reactions to events such as the man being shot on the boat or him killing Richard are a nice twist.
"Killing Always Costs" (Chapter 25, page 317, first paragraph) This quote was (I'm pretty sure) said by Pima's mother. I feel that is showed his actions were not meaning less and had a real impact on Nailer. It shows Nailer has an empathetic personality which helps his character development.
I like how they are leading the event to a big battle. I think Nailers development through the book has been good. I don't like how the crew of Dauntles were so exepting and not concerned about Nailer at all. They strated off saying they would kill him if he was lying but soon they just took his word for it and are sailing out. I think that Nita is going to be on Pole Star because its the more challenging of the two so they will probably put her in the worse position. "Nailer says he wants to be useful." This quote is good because it sums him up pretty well. All hes ever done is work and work some more. He was on the boat and felt out of place not doing anything while everyone else had jobs. I wonder what he will do if he does get rich and doesnt need to work, how will he feel?
